Listen in below as they discuss the steps DHEC has taken to achieve success in its COVID-19 response operations in the Charleston region.
In addition to her role as community systems director for SC DHEC’s Lowcountry region, Felicia is the health agency’s COVID response operations director. She serves 11 counties in the Lowcountry region,
leading and directing efforts to support the implementation of community systems development, working to address health equity by improving the systems involved in promoting health and reducing chronic disease, and engaging the community, local health departments, and state health departments. She also facilitates community assessments and acts as a liaison to internal and external partners, and oversees COVID-19 testing and vaccinations for the region.
Felicia has nearly 15 years of experience engaging community members to live healthier lifestyles. Prior to joining DHEC, she served as senior community liaison for Select Health of South Carolina, where she spearheaded community outreach and education; assisted in the development, implementation, and management of statewide events; and built and nurtured relationships with stakeholders.
She holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology with a minor in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and obtained her master of health administration degree from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
